Questions

Is there free SQE2 practice?

+

Yes. LearnSQE gives you a free SQE2 practice station: the opening of a client interview with a live interactive client, spoken out loud just like the real SQE2 oral, and a free report graded A to F on the SRA criteria. It needs a free account and a microphone, and no card. The full practice then covers all 16 SQE2 stations, oral and written.

Can I practise the SQE2 client interview for free?

+

Yes. LearnSQE's free SQE2 interview practice puts you in front of a live interactive client for the opening of a real-style SQE2 client interview. You speak out loud, the client answers what you ask, and you get a free report graded A to F on the SRA interview criteria. You just need a free account and a microphone.

What are the SQE2 oral stations?

+

Four of the 16 SQE2 stations are oral: two client interviews (Property Practice and Wills and Intestacy), each followed by a 25-minute written attendance note, and two advocacy stations (Dispute Resolution and Criminal Litigation), with 45 minutes' preparation and 15 minutes of submissions to a judge. The other 12 are written: case and matter analysis (60 minutes), legal research (60), legal writing (30) and legal drafting (45). Full practice covers all 16.

How is the SQE2 client interview marked?

+

Assessors grade each criterion from A to F against the standard of a competent newly qualified solicitor. The interview is marked on skills such as questioning, listening, client focus and building trust; the attendance note is marked on skills and on applying the law, including any ethical issue you should have spotted.

What do I get with full SQE2 practice?

+

Unlimited practice on all 16 SQE2 stations: both client interviews with timed attendance notes, both advocacy stations with a live interactive judge, and all 12 written tasks (case and matter analysis, legal research, legal writing and legal drafting), each timed like the real one, with an A to F report on every SRA criterion. It's a one-off £149.99, or £199.99 together with the SQE1 Pass Programme.

Is my practice report an official SRA result?

+

No. It is practice feedback to help you prepare, marked against the published SRA criteria. LearnSQE is not affiliated with the SRA or Kaplan.

What do I need to practise?

+

A computer or phone with a microphone, an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Safari or Edge, and a quiet room. Headphones help the client or judge hear you clearly. For the written stations, a computer with a keyboard is best, as in the real exam.
